Musculoskeletal
The human musculoskeletal system consists of the human skeleton, made by bones attached to other bones with joints, and skeletal muscle attached to the skeleton by tendons.
Musculoskeletal is a general term which is defined as relating to muscles and the skeleton. Thus, the musculoskeletal system involves the:
- muscles
- bones
- joints (the place of union between two or more bones)
- bursa (fluid sac between the muscles and bones that forms in areas of friction)
- ligaments (a fibrous band of tissue connecting bones)
- tendons (a fibrous band of tissue connecting muscle with bone)
